Erosion means wear on the cross-border biosphere reserve, caused
by the weather and climatic conditions (water, wind, ice, etc.).
It has caused interesting shapes to appear in the rock and on the
mountainsides: these are called geological features.
These particular shapes are natural monuments, which give the landscape
an attraction and ambiance which cannot be found anywhere.
Water is ever-present in the cross-border biosphere reserve, especially
in the sandstone rock, spouting and gushing in many places. Rivers
and streams are then formed, flowing into larger rivers. These sources
have been used in many villages in the cross-border biosphere reserve
to build fountains.
