It main task is to offer guidance to the ten French biosphere
reserves. This consists of having regular meetings with
the reserve coordinators, and in distributing a liaison
news-sheet "The Biosphere Letter".
Documentation on MAB and other publications on biosphere
reserves are held in the Ecole des Mines Library in Fontainebleau.
They can be consulted on the Web (www.bib.ensmp.fr)
(select MAB and Fontainebleau).
A Management Assistance Guide has been published by the
French biosphere reserves.
MAB France and the French National Forestry Board have
signed a joint agreement and set up a working group on
French forests that gives state forest managers and biosphere
reserve staff an opportunity to exchange ideas.
Finally, MAB France is part of the EUROMAB network and
produces the contributions that France makes to UNESCO.
