An exceptional network of hiking trails

The territory's hiking trails and facilities, especially in the forest (picnic areas, viewing points, shelters, viewpoint indicators, etc.) were set up in the reserve many years ago.

Associations have been set up, some of them over 100 years ago, such as the "Club Vosgien" for the Vosges du Nord, and the Pfälzerwaldverein e.V. on the German side, bringing together local and regional members who love nature and are regular hikers.

These associations publish maps, run some stop-over halts, and provide support for young people. They are responsible for maintaining and marking the trails.

Certain itineraries are thematic, others are European "Grande Randonnée" (long hiking) trails, linking the Netherlands and the North Sea to the Mediterranean. Don't miss exploring the Tres Tabernae trail between Bergzabern and Saverne.
